Getting Soaked in the Rain and Rats the Size of Poodles

Tuesday 6th February, 2024

22:08, LONDON HOME

Hello diary. It’s been an interesting day. Windy. Rainy. No umbrella in sight. A SLEEVELESS jacket. Ha. Just another pleasant Tuesday. I could have sworn I checked the weather forecast. Ah well.

So I wanted to keep the fixed sleeping pattern alive by sleeping early (12-ish, excellent) and waking early (woke at 10, got up at 10:30, not a complete failure). My problem is wanting to lie in bed and ignore all my problems. There is another way to get rid of problems. Solving them!

Anywho, I got up and got ready, walked to the station and caught a train to Central London. Did I tell you I saw a rat near the train station yesterday? I tried to take a picture but I think I scared it off. Poor thing. Scratch that. It was larger than a toy poodle. I think it’s been eating better than most of us.

It was awfully windy. I hurried into Mikel’s for a coffee and did a few hours on my laptop there. I got so much editing done. Was very pleased. Then I went to uni and found a nice spot, studied week 5 materials for Media Law. Got some lunch too, plus a latte. Just a mozzarella, tomato and pesto sandwich. The latte sucked.

Oh, then I remembered I have to print my coach ticket. I’m traveling on Valentine’s day, will be gone for a week. Tell you more about it later. But I headed to the library to print that and then I saw my Tort Law textbook was available! So I quickly nabbed that.

Then I headed to my seminar. I was early so I continued the editing streak (amazing work!). Class started. I chatted with my friends. Then I dipped as soon as possible. My oyster was back to zero and wow, have I complained lately about the tube prices in London? Because this is me complaining. Bloody robbers.

It was raining. My bag was a cotton tote. Inside was my newly acquired textbook and laptop. Safe to say I was worried. It’s not the skys fault, and I’ve no one to blame but myself really. Should have brought an umbrella.

Fortunately, nothing was soaked and I unpacked as soon as I got home. Took a hot shower, made a wrap for dinner, and did some more – if you can believe it – editing. Now I’m up to date with my work!

I might read a bit on my kindle then call it a night. Lots of classes tomorrow.
