Wow, what a dreary start to the day. The weather was reminiscent of London. It was definitely an errand day. I went to this Chinese supermarket that sells lots of fresh veg and has a fishmongers. I bought mum a whole large salmon for tomorrow’s dinner party.
I was also on the hunt for a round sourdough loaf large enough to fit this gigantic wheel of brie my sister purchased. This appetiser has sort of fallen on me to make now. I already went to Longo’s and their sourdough is not big enough! I’ll have to pop into Loblaws and grab one from there.
It will actually work out really well because I’m adding some maple onion chutney as the base sauce and the Loblaws sourdough is cheese and onion infused. It’s going to be great! I’ll top it off with a sprig of rosemary and pop it in the oven when the guests first arrive.
I went to this greek cafe on my way home and grabbed some loukoumades since my mum likes them with tea. So nice. They’s these honey and cinnamon drenched chewy dough balls.
Also, the engine light is on in my car. Will have to take it to Mercedes and get it checked out.
Also, also, I randomly went to the pet store. They had fishies! And cute Christmas dog outfits. Do you think I should get Biscuit one? He’s already too cute. I think we’ll die from cuteness overload if he dresses up as Santa’s not-so-little helper.
I had this really spicy Buldak Rose noodle for lunch that my sister made for me. She says you’re supposed to make the pink (rosé noodles?) one with milk. It was still so spicy but really nice. Seems like it’s still attacking my digestive tract but I did it for science!
The Spicy Buldak Rose Noodle Process: She boiled the noods normally in water. Then drained them and added some milk to the pot, the seasoning packets, and sesame oil. Oh, and a slice of melty cheese! Sesame seeds to garnish. Definitely try it but I don’t think they sell this in regular supermarkets in London (let me know if I’m wrong!) They do here in Toronto but the Korean population seems higher so could be due to greater demand.
I would just try to go to a Korean convenience store or try Amazon.
